What is Modern Alchemy?

To know me is to know I have one hand in the stars and one in the earth. As above, so below. To call myself an Alchemist feels natural, but what exactly is Modern Alchemy?

Alchemy is unity. It is the convergence of science and spirituality, something more crucial than ever in our modern world. Once held as a sacred science, alchemy has been stripped of its esoteric and intuitive elements, the personal rituals rich in culture and belief. Modern alchemy honors those elements, integrating them with the natural world of purpose, sentience, intelligence, and spirit.

Over time, science has become de-sacralized. Alchemy became chemistry. Astrology became astronomy. Herbalism became modern pharmaceutical medicine. In this shift, the spirit and cultural significance were removed. What were once meaningful rituals became mechanical and departmentalized. HeadPlant restores this reverence, expressed through a modern lens.

Alchemy within herbalism recognizes pharmacology not only at the biological level but also on spiritual and intellectual planes. Plants are living, sentient beings with the capacity to heal spiritually and physically. Ultimately cultivating a whole body relationship. A call and response that embodies what we call Body Ecology.
